Man arrested as armed police respond to stabbing at Central Middlesex Hospital in northwest London

A man has been arrested after two people were stabbed at a hospital in northwest London.

Armed officers responded after calls at 1.18pm that two had been stabbed at Central Middlesex Hospital.

Brent MPS posted on Twitter: “We’re aware of an incident at Central Middlesex Hospital in #Brent. Armed officers are among those responding.

“A man has been arrested.”

The London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, which runs the hospital, said it is an “ongoing incident” and urged people to follow any instructions given by police.

Reports on social media suggested that patients had to shelter in safe rooms, but this has not been officially confirmed.

In a statement on Twitter, London Ambulance Service said it was at the scene with paramedics and an air ambulance and hazardous environment team have also been dispatched.

“The incident is ongoing and we are working with our emergency services partners,” they said.
